A HOUSE BEGINS WITH A PLACE
A House Begins With a Place
Before there was a collection, there was a city.
Not simply somewhere on a map, but a place that quietly stays with you. A place whose streets, markets, rituals and traditions reveal themselves slowly over time. For me, that place has always been Amritsar.
The House of Amritsar was never conceived as another skincare brand inspired by India. It began with a simpler belief: if a place has shaped your thinking for decades, the most honest thing you can do is build something worthy of carrying its name.

Some places inspire products. Others inspire an entire House.
1998
Amritsar.com is founded — a digital tribute to the city and its heritage.
TODAY
The House of Amritsar — a collection inspired by heritage, guided by rigour, created for the world.
The Long Road Here
My own journey rarely followed the path people expect. I trained as an engineer at Imperial College London before spending almost four decades building technology businesses, where evidence matters and every claim must withstand scrutiny.
That discipline became an unexpected advantage. It taught me patience. It taught me that credibility is built slowly. Most importantly, it taught me that trust is earned long before a product reaches someone’s hands.
A Relationship, Not an Idea
Long before this collection existed, I founded and developed Amritsar.com in 1998. What began as a way of celebrating the city gradually became a decades-long relationship with its heritage, its people and the remarkable traditions that continue to define it.
At the heart of the Golden Temple lies the sacred sarovar, whose name gives us the word Amrit — the sacred nectar that inspires our collection’s name. That connection was never created for branding. It simply reflects a relationship that has existed for many years.
“The sarovar—whose name, Amrit, the sacred nectar—inspires our collection’s name.”
Why the House of Amritsar Exists
Heritage is easy to borrow and hard to earn.
I wanted The House of Amritsar to point back to one real place with confidence, rather than simply borrow its imagery. That means moving more slowly than many brands. It means waiting until ingredients can be traced, sourcing can be documented, formulations are properly developed and every statement can be supported.
The House of Amritsar is built with rigour, careful sourcing, and respect for the place that has shaped so much of my life’s work.
For Our Spa, Hotel, and Retail Partners
When a spa, hotel or boutique chooses The House of Amritsar, they are not simply adding another skincare line to a shelf. They are inviting their guests into a relationship that has been building for almost thirty years — with a real city, a real tradition and a real sarovar whose name we still carry.
That is not a story we could invent for a launch. It is one we have simply been living, and are now ready to share.

I hope you discover more than botanicals and formulations.
I hope you discover why a single city inspired an entire House.
I hope you find stories worth following, rituals worth preserving and a collection being created with the patience to earn its place rather than simply claim it.
Welcome to The House of Amritsar.
